PP Neighborhood Meeting Minutes

Charlie Joseph Senior Citizen Center
5:30 - Signed in and EAT Chicken and pizza and home made cake!
5:45 - Open Meeting and Introductions - everyone told their favorite spring flower.
5:50 - Read Mission and Vision Statement
Mission Statement: “Cultivating a flourishing neighborhood by leveraging our resources to build a safe, resilient and inclusive community and promote neighborhood pride.”
Vision Statement: “Uniting Panama Park Neighbors to produce a thriving community”
5:55 - Minutes from the last meeting (Moved:James_Seconded: _Ed Accepted: YES
6:00 Guests Speaker - Gerrie Ford-Hardin for Jacksonville City Council District 10
She is a Panama Park Neighbor!!! She shared her bio (available upon request or got to the link above). She has extensive experience with the council as an administrative assistant to three Councilmen. She would like to make a difference in our district.
Also another person running for council in our district was in attendance, Vanessa Cullins Hopkins.
6:25 -Old Business:
- The neighbors stealing electricity update. Good News! Robert Smith, our neighbor, has purchased the property they were squatting in and is cleaning up the neighborhood! We nominated and voted to honor him as Neighbor of the Month for April!
- Information from JEA is available regarding the Buffalo Serwer project. Gerrie Ford-Hardin said to send her the information. Venessa Cullins Hopkins said we will get it on the Docket for CPAC meeting and have JEA come talk to CPAC and she drove by to see it.
- The city got the RR company to fix the terrible RR where 27th st. dead ends on Evergreen.
6:35 Community Garden Committee
Muralist is finished! With a special surprise to add. The 25th
- Flyers for the April 25th Event -plans for distribution.
Please ask for flyers to help get the word out.
-The Event and Sign up sheet - We need more volunteers!
-Each Saturday this month is a work day. Please help make the garden look its best for the event.
No word on electricity yet from the city for the garden.
Deck needs stain and landscaping and a skirt.
Volunteers and donations still needed.
Need one more sponsor sign painted – Bonnie Plants
