6:00 – New Business:

Guests:  JEA representatives Lisa Jennings (Program Manager) and Seth Finnicum (Project Manager). Together they shared how the emergency sewer work is going.  Only a portion worked with the first method: Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining involving inserting a flexible liner into the existing pipe, inflating it to form a new, seamless pipe, and then curing the resin to harden it. But it was so badly damaged in portions - iron corroded, they had to dig out portions of it and replace it with new pipe.  The pipe is 18 feet deep and submerged in river water, thus the 23-7 pumps were running.  They have now finished the portion on Buffalo and will start working on Trout River Rd. next. They handed out maps of where they will be working next, all to be finished late 2026.   They took other questions about water lines also, and said that water lines are not scheduled to be replaced. If you are having plumbing problems you can call JEA to come check to make sure it isn’t their problem at the road before you call a plumber.  Call 904-665-6000
If you have problems with the construction or need respiration for damage, contact Lisa Jennings at: ProjectOutreach@jea.com (904) 665-5463.

Emergency Help - Racoon Story. Neighbor Pam won the “Good Neighbor of the month” award because she helped her neighbor, Otis Williams to get a raccoon out of his house.

We discussed the need for neighbors to be “Street Lights” and two volunteered for their street. We will follow up with a separate committee meeting for these people.  They will be ones to alert us to needs like Mr. Williams raccoon so that we can call on a neighbor to help.

City Grant Options - The need for the permit is making the Neighborhood’s Department ask us to re think the project of the deck and make it something smaller.
