PP Neighborhood Meeting Minutes
Thursday, February 26, 2026 5:30 - 6:45 PM
Charlie Joseph Senior Citizen Center
5:30 - 6 different items were brought for our pot-luck to share with all who came. Yummm.
5:45 - The meeting opened with introductions and we had one neighbor attending for the first time and three guest speakers. We all shared the best advice we had been given.
5:50 Guests from JEA - Lisa Jennings and the Project Manager, Maria for the Buffalo Ave. and Virginia Street Sewer Project. They presented and explained how they repair the sewer pipes and the unforeseen problems they have had with collapsed pipes. They estimated that the hole in the road at Virginia would be covered in 4 weeks unless they have to replace all the pipe and in that case it will be 4 months.
They were asked a question about stolen power from squatters and they will check into it.
We discussed how the police can't do anything until the code enforcement has posted a condemned sign on the house. We shared the code enforcement number with all neighbors to call when they see movement in the house. (904) 255-7000

6:35 Community Garden Committee
Muralist is almost finished!
Unvailing in April. Volunteers needed to help plan the event.
This Saturday is a work day (every 2nd and 4th Saturday).
We will make a bed and plant the new plants.
Also Sunday afternoon is a work day.
Extra plants available for you to take home.
No word on electricity yet from the city for the garden.
The deck needs stain and landscaping and a skirt. Volunteers needed.
