PP Neighborhood Meeting Minutes

Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021    5:30 - 6:45 PM

Charlie Joseph Senior Citizen Center (Special thanks to Willie for keeping it open for us)

 

Attendance: 7 neighbors total.  

5:30 - Open and Food Served - Blessing given by Roxie McLeod

6:00 - Introduction of all present

 

6:10 - Minutes Approval

            JW made a motion to accept the minutes from the Sept. 23, 2021 Meeting. Rob Seconded the motion. The September meeting minutes were approved by a voice vote. 

             

6:20 - Recycle Garbage/Compost Jax – Drop Off Sites and Jax Compost were discussed. One neighbor pointed out that if you talk to the trash workers, they will do their best to collect the trash to your liking.

 

6:25 – Roxie announced about the other meetings like CPAC that offer lots of information like a Fall Family Event and the city putting on a driving license reinstatement expo – must register Oct. 25-29

 

6:30 – Neighborhood Clean Up – Date set for November 6th.  JW will bring the city provided buckets, pinchers, and bags and vests.  Roxie will see about donuts being donated.

 

6:35 – Movie Night at the park – we set the date for December the 4th.  Rob and Angela volunteered to help with set up and Roxie will ask David Lass to also help with set up.  Approx. $200 will need to be raised.  Spreading the word about this event was discussed and word of mouth is the best, so please pass on the details.  The popcorn will be ready by 5:30 PM and the movie will start soon after that. 

 

6:35 - New Business - There was no new business.

Meeting Highlights:

Mexican Pot-Luck and neighbors we have not seen in over a year! 

​Past meeting notes were approved.

​Dates were set for two events. Please mark your calendars and come join us for:

​1. Park Cleanup -  6912 Buffalo Ave. (the park)  Saturday, November 6th. Show up at 9:00 AM and all will be provided (gloves, vests, trash bags, etc.) 

​2. Movie night at the park - 6912 Buffalo Ave. (the park) Saturday, December 4th.

Show up at dusk with your blankets or folding chairs.  Free popcorn provided.

Next meeting:  November 18, Thursday at the Sr. Cit. Center.  - POT - LUCK

Our next two meetings will fall on the THIRD Thursday of the month due to holidays.   So mark your calendars now:  Nov 18, 2021 and  Dec 16, 2021
