PP Neighborhood Meeting Minutes

5:30 - We ate food donated from Shaw's Sea Food Co.
5:45 - Opened Meeting with Introductions and (Favorite Colors)
5:48 - We Read Mission and Vision Statement
6:50 - Minutes from the last meeting (Moved:_Jan_ Seconded: _Latara__ Accepted: Yes_ )
6:00 We unanimously voted for the Neighbor of the Month - Reginald Ford for his industry and love for this neighborhood and the garden.
6:10 - Community Garden Committee
-Reggie Ford reported on the donated plants from Bonnie Plants and said there is more coming tomorrow! Jan suggested that we give away the excess plants to nearby community gardens. Need for painting a new sign for Bonnie Plants - for the herb garden.
-Deck celebration could be New Year’s Eve. We spoke that maybe there will be electricity by then. The Parks say they are working on it. Deck just needs stain, landscaping and skirt.
-Shed Mural - the muralists have applied, now in the choosing stage. Suggestions were made to make sure these are experienced muralists and will do what we want, using the right paint. Even have them come for a garden tour and get to know them and thank those not chosen with a plant.
-Request for donations of plants that are shade lovers- purple cabbage was suggested.
-Workday this Saturday the 25th - planting new plants!
6:20 Old Business:
JEA is still working on the sewer on Buffalo and Virginia. They say they will let us know when they are just about done, it will be quite a while longer because they have no date yet.
New Business:
Next meeting will be a week earlier - the third Thursday because of Thanksgiving.
Announcement Roxie will be starting a new job and will need help with the meetings. Latara volunteered and they will meet together soon.
